New motor is in and runs!!!

Postby 1BADPRIX » Sun Jan 17, 2010 10:23 pm

So it's taken a lifetime (Not really) but the new L26 transplant is in and runs as of this afternoon!!! Somehow I managed to damage the cylinder #6 PRJ sparkplug wire so although it starts, it's arcing on the coil pack. A quick E-Mail to PRJ and the new wire will be in the priority mail tomorrow! Should now be able to put down some more power to increase the stock cam record! New goal is 325 FWHP and 450lbs of torque. I think that's TOTALLY manageable with the new L26 block!

Here's what's left:

Replace cylinder #6 sparkplug wire
Order new TOG donut gaskets (Possibly)
Run off the old gas in the tank
Put it on the dyno and see if we can squeek out 8 more HP!

Woooo Hooo!!!!

Sweet! I was asked about you and your build the other day by HD and I couldn't tell him much since I told him I had heard you had a kid or something so I wanted to give you space if it was true. LOL! Make sure you get the dyno on vid so that you can add it to the dyno section of the garage. LOL! Need to do some track time after that. :D

Yeah, it's been tough with the birth of our 1st child, me coaching football in the fall, funding, the holidays, and w/e the hell else got in the way. The thing that makes it all even better is the fact that I think I'm going to pay it off this month and own this giant hunk of modded crap out right! :)

Finally it all comes full circle! LOL! So what can we do about a track thing now since Norwalk will not allow us to do it? HD asked me that cause we wants to go out and so does his dad now that he has a GTP. LOL!

Your the only one I know that knows how to go about setting it up. LOL! I mean a bunch of people know how to go to the track but most I talk to do not know a thing about reserving a track. I bet Dads would want to go to since he has finished his car from what I hear also. We seen a vid he posted a couple months ago I think that was showing his car with a cage now and a few other things added to it. LOL!

Thats what I have no idea of. People want it all over the place cause they are form all over the place. LOL! I myself do not care. Norwalk was so centrally located but now we have so many from so far away I guess it would not matter where cause it might be to far for them. LOL!

Troy,

If I did it, it would be at a Michigan track b/c I could then vouch for track conditions and ease of setup for me with management.

Hey what ever works! I can get a few people to go myself but it really depends on how many you want to go. LOL! I know you wanted a limit last time to allow for a decent amount of track runs. I wonder if my dad and his friend would bring thier propane powered truck to the track? It is sick and I would love to see it in person. LOL! I know they race up north of Cadillac, MI somewhere.

If I did another one it would more than likely be in Ubly, Mi at their local track. I think it would be cheaper than Milan (Based on my talks with them in the past) and still be relatively close.

a thumb track huh...... that doesnt look like it would hold that many cars, but that means it might be cheaper..... like you said....
