Site Rules and Regulations!!!

Postby gtpforever » Wed Apr 09, 2008 3:02 am

"This document is designed to clarify various responsibilities of community members here at GTPWORLD. Please read it and become familiar with it, it's terms are retroactive and agreed by team and group members.

The GTPWORLD Forum was conceived to foster an enthusiastic group of Grand Prix And other W-Body owners in sharing their ideas, technical expertise and experiences in an automotive context. The Forum was created by volunteers who, sharing a common interest, seek to provide a peaceful environment for the social interaction of members. Membership is a privilege granted to you, on the basis that you agree to abide by the Forum Rules. Membership can be revoked or suspended at any time by the Forum Administrators and/or Moderators at their sole discretion.

All posts shall become the sole property of the operators of the GTPWORLD Forum. We reserve the right to modify, delete or make use of all messages in any way whatsoever at our sole discretion. Freedom of Speech is limited to the constraints of the Forum Rules and subject to change at any time without notice. If you feel you cannot abide by these Rules, or don't agree with them, please refrain from using this Forum.

Posting Rules:

Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning (see policing below).
Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
Members are asked to not act as "back seat moderators". If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of the Moderators Team which are named before entering each forum. Only do this if a moderator team member has not replied within 2 hours. Members who consistently "act" as moderators may be warned.
Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated outside of the Super Off Topic forum (SOT) and will lead to a warning. If you would like entry to that forum then enter the forum and request membership with reasoning for why your membership to (SOT) should be approved.
Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Users linking to or asking for information on warez, crackz, etc. or re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and their post will be removed.
Members should respect the bandwidth of other users and sites. The use of inline () image tags pointing to data stored on third party systems for which the user has not received permission to link to may be removed.
Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently abusing this will be warned.
Members should use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic. Examples of bad titles include; "Help me!", "I'm stuck!", "Tires????", etc. Examples of good titles include; "My car keeps stalling", "What's a good brand for winter tires", etc.
Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed.
The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to Team Members and not users.
The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revocation of private messaging.
Members are encouraged to use the Completely Off Topic (COT) forum for discussions not related to the Grand Prix. The COT forum may NOT be used as an area to disregard forum Board-Wide policies. All rules still apply. No exceptions.
Members also need to keep their thoughts of other members to themselves. This mean do not say anything towards another member in anyway other than normal talk. No calling of names for someone other than screen names & first names unless directed that it is OK to by the member. Moderators and Administrators are included in this for both sides. Editing power is for that and doesn't give you extra powers to use to break rules on GTPWORLD. Keep the sarcasm to a minimum towards other members to keep people from taking it the wrong way. We all have some sarcasm to release every once in a while I/E Mr moderator.....Mr Admin......Mr What Ever......Mr Cry Baby these names although sounding simple and funny can be taken as insults to members since they are not their names. If you have a disagreement with a member on a thread please move your disagreement discussion to PM system to keep from crapping on another members thread. Respect for others is our goal.

GTPWORLD operates a three strike policy. If at any time a user of the forum conducts himself/herself in a manner which clearly proves to be in violation of the rules upon which he/she agreed to at the time of registration, a private and/or public warning shall be given by a member of the moderator team. If the offending individual proceeds to ignore the given warning and continues to conduct themselves in a manner that is in any way in violation of the rules, he/she will then be temporarily banned for a period of 7-30 days depending on the severity of the offense. This length of the temporary ban will be at the Administrator's discretion as part of a moderator team decision. Should the individual continue to violate the forum's policies and rules during and/or after the temporary ban period, that individual will be banned permanently from the GTPWORLD forums.
Arguing with team members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.
Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the relevant team leader, e.g. if warned by a moderator you should contact the Administrator. If they feel you were treated badly they remove a warning. Their decision is final.
Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account of evade an email ban. Circumvention includes posting as an anonymous user.
An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact team members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While GTPWORLD may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence."
Warnings are not permanent and usually will be removed after a period of time that depends on the ongoing attitude of the warned member.

Global & Forum Moderators:

Although you have more powers then regular members you are to live under a stronger label of the rules. All mods are to follow the rules to a "T" and keep the forum running at its best ability at all times when it is necessary to do so. The same rules for all is how it is but you much go one step further and try to NEVER cross the line of breaking these rules as regular member may see it as a "well if they can do it so can I point. This can cause a domino affect that can be hard to clean up when and if it happens. If a post needs moved move it, it someone needs warned warn them or tell someone who can, if something needs deleted then delete it and so on and so forth.
